Our senior managers have a wealth of experience garnered from working in the financial services industry for many years. We are all stakeholders and have a common purpose in making sure we build a company that is well-structured, adequately capitalized and properly staffed, to ensure a high-quality service is offered on a consistent and timely basis.
Tom Davis
Tom is Chairman of the Board of the group holding company and serves as the group’s Chief Executive Officer. He has been with Meridian Fund Services since October 2000.
Tom has over thirty years of experience in the financial services industry. He has held a number of senior management roles in the funds services division of the Bank of Bermuda in Guernsey, Luxembourg, New York and in his native Bermuda. After leaving the Bank he helped to form, and was the chief executive and a part owner of, two Bermuda based licensed trust companies, one of which was affiliated with Olympia Capital, a hedge fund services company of which he also served as senior vice president.
Tom has an undergraduate degree in business studies from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, an MBA degree from York University in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and was awarded with a degree in Chartered Accountancy by the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and Bermuda.
A long and varied service to the community includes serving as the chairman of the Bermuda International Business Association, president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bermuda, chairman of the trustees of the Whitney Educational Trust and service on numerous government and charitable boards. Tom was appointed to be a Justice of the Peace by the Bermuda Government in recognition of his service to the community.
Patrick Donnelly
Patrick is the president of Meridian Fund Services (Canada) Limited. Patrick joined Meridian Fund Services in September 2006 and was instrumental in establishing our formal presence in Halifax in January 2007.
From 1995, Patrick has held senior management positions for Citigroup Fund Services (Bermuda) Ltd. and HSBC/Bank of Bermuda Fund Services Group, where he was responsible for building effective teams of professionals who provided accounting, valuation and investor services to a fast growing portfolio of hedge fund clients.
Patrick qualified as a chartered accountant while working in the Halifax, Nova Scotia, office of Grant Thornton, one of Canada’s leading professional accounting firms. He graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, in 1990 with a BBA degree as an accounting major.
Cary Marr
Cary joined Meridian Fund Services (Bermuda) Limited in March 1999 and served as the Group’s Chief Operating Officer. In February 2008, he moved to The Cayman Islands and assumed the Presidency of Meridian Fund Services (Cayman) Limited.
Prior to joining Meridian Fund Services, Cary was with Deloitte & Touche LLP, in both their Saskatchewan, Canada, and Bermuda offices. During the latter part of his career with Deloitte & Touche, Cary was the audit manager of their Alternative Investment Group in Bermuda.
Cary graduated from the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada, with a Bachelor of Administration degree in 1994. He qualified as a chartered accountant in 1997. He is a member of the Institutes of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan and Bermuda, the Cayman Islands Directors Association, the Cayman Islands Fund Administrators Association, and the Cayman Islands Financial Services Association.
Randy Troy
Randy helped establish Meridian Fund Services (USA) LLC in New York in May 2004 and serves as its President. He oversees both our New York and Massachusetts offices.
Randy is a certified public accountant in the state of New York and had over a decade of industry experience before joining Meridian Fund Services. Prior to joining Meridian Fund Services, he was Chief Financial Officer of a quantitative-based multi-strategy hedge fund group, and controller of another large hedge fund, both located in Manhattan.
Randy began his career at the New York office of Deloitte & Touche LLP in their financial services industry group. In that audit position, he worked with some of the world's largest brokerage and investment firms. He graduated with honors from New York University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and previously held a Series 27 Financial Operations Principal securities license.
Sharon Davis
Sharon is the Senior Vice President, Corporate and Compliance for Meridian Fund Services, worldwide. She is also the company secretary for our holding company.
Sharon joined Meridian Fund Services (Bermuda) Limited in 2001 and is responsible for ensuring that the corporate records, filings and compliance are in place for both Meridian Fund Services and the funds we administer. She also has the responsibility for establishing and monitoring our compliance policies and procedures and the adherence thereto. Additionally, she serves as an officer for several other Meridian Fund Services companies.
Sharon has over 27 years experience in corporate administration. Prior to joining Meridian Fund Services, she was the treasurer/accountant for a Bermuda-based investment management company serving captive insurance companies. She also served twelve years as a corporate services administrator for Exxon Financial Services Company Limited and corporate secretary for the Exxon companies based in Bermuda. Before joining Exxon, she held the post of executive secretary at Mello & Jones and the Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Sons Ltd.
She attended the University of Maryland University College and has obtained Corporate Procedures Certificates issued by the Bermuda Branch of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators.
Eric Smith
Eric is the Senior Vice President, IT Support for Meridian Fund Services (USA) LLC. He first joined Meridian Fund Services in 2003 and worked in the Bermuda office before opening the Cambridge office in 2006.
Prior to joining Meridian Fund Services, Eric worked in a variety of technology sectors, including pharmaceutical, telecommunications, e-commerce, e-learning, and consulting.
Eric graduated from Williams College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1999.
