OVERVIEW OF OUR SERVICES
Meridian Fund Services provides a full complement of third party administrative services to the hedge fund industry.
Valuation and Accounting. Our team of well-educated, highly-trained and experienced accountants perform valuations at whatever frequency is required, from daily, monthly, quarterly or annually. A general ledger is maintained for each hedge fund so that a set of financial statements can be produced whenever required, including a year-end formal set of financial statements that conform to generally-accepted accounting principles. Our systems also have the functionality and flexibility to produce financial information needed for either tax or regulatory reporting purposes.
Investor Relations. Investors are the lifeblood of a hedge fund. We have assembled a team of specialists who understand the needs of investors of all types, whether they are high net worth individuals, their agents or, increasingly, various types of institutions, such as family offices, pension plans, fund of funds, etc. All investors in the funds we administer are vetted using the highest standards of compliance checking and strict control is exercised over all cash transactions. Reports to investors are easy to read, informative and issued on a prompt basis.
Corporate and Compliance. In both the offshore and onshore world, on an increasing basis, we provide all of the support needed to represent the corporate or partnership affairs of a hedge fund. We have a team of corporate secretaries who are supported by a full time compliance officer and in-house counsel.
Directorships. In augmentation and support of our Corporate and Compliance service, we make available senior officers to serve on the boards of directors of offshore funds.
New Fund Start-Up | Existing Fund Transfer. We also appreciate that an extra level of assistance is required when a new fund is being launched or if an existing fund is transferred to us from another administrator. We have a team of experts available to assist in the development and assimilation processes.
IT Support and Development. We recognize that the hedge fund industry is very reliant on technology. Our IT experts, strategically located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, are available to assist our clients in the integration of their data processing systems, including the systems of other related service providers, with ours. If requested, we will assist with the middle office information processing needs of investment managers. We are constantly reviewing the most efficient, informative and secure ways to report hedge fund results to its investor base.
Our Affiliate’s Services: Hedge Fund Regulatory Consulting. Meridian Fund Advisers recognizes that we are in a changing and increasingly complex investing and regulatory environment, and as a result, hedge fund investors are demanding proof of operational excellence and conformance to regulatory best practices. Against this background, Meridian Fund Advisers provides consulting services to hedge fund managers who wish to adopt best practices and demonstrate the effectiveness of their policies and procedures to investors, as well as to regulators. To this end, Meridian Fund Advisers will work with clients with the objective of assuring their compliance with the expectations stemming from the current regulatory environment, including the new emphasis on corporate governance.
